The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) located in Madrid-Spain is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. As the leading international organization in the field of tourism,

UNWTO promotes tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offers leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide. 

UNWTO encourages the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, to maximize tourism’s socio-economic contribution while minimizing its possible negative impacts, and is committed to promoting tourism as an instrument in achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), geared towards reducing poverty and fostering sustainable development.

UNWTO generates market knowledge, promotes competitive and sustainable tourism policies and instruments, fosters tourism education and training, and works to make tourism an effective tool for development through technical assistance projects in over 100 countries around the world.  UNWTO’s membership includes 155 countries, 6 Associate Members and over 400 Affiliate Members representing the private sector, educational institutions, tourism associations and local tourism authorities.

Is a UNWTO Protect Children Short Movie Campaign for the awareness of Child Ethics and Social Responsibilities and a fund raising campaign to promote sustainable tourism and to eradicate child labour and trafficking of children.Its first kind in the world that is designed exclusively for the children/students.

Primarily the first phase of campaign starts in India, the country of HEART OF THE WORLD. This campaign will be executed in the schools and gated communities in the first come first serve basis.

As tourism across the globe reaches unprecedented levels, so does the need to eradicate child labour in the global travel industry – that is why the United Nations body for tourism is taking action now.

The awareness campaign coordinated by UNWTO and ITS 6TH WOW (an NGO from India working for the Global Sustainable Tourism and Environmental Protection). This campaign will raise the profile of children with knowledge of Child Ethics and Social Responsibilities.

UNWTO strongly believes that the tourism industry has a moral obligation and a special responsibility to combat child labour and trafficking of children.
